General information

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) comprises a large scientific infrastructure with sixindependent, yet closely interrelated, research centres. Its mission is to be the leader in translational research in southern Europe. The PRBB building has 55,000m2 and is physically connected to the Hospital del Mar. It was opened in May 2006 and currently around 1,500 people work within its walls.


The PRBB is an initiative of the Government of Catalonia, the City Council of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).
