Advances in Computational Biology, the first all-female conference in bioinformatics

The conference is open to all, but speakers will all be women

The Advances in Computational Biology conference will take place next 28th and 29th of November in La Pedrera, Barcelona. This will be one of the firsts - if not the only - scientific meetings where all the organizers and speakers are women.

The aim of this all-female conference is to give visibility to the computational biology research done by women, which is often less visible due to (unconscious) biases. The event is organised by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the National Institute of Bioinformatics (INB-ELIXIR-ES), and the Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) at the PRBB.

The deadline for abstract submission is July 1st.

You can learn more about the conference in this article in ellipse, where Mar Albà, PI at the GRIB and one of the organisers, tells us about it.
