Andrea S. Foulkes, from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, USA, will give a talk entitled "Statistics in translational medicine: Returning to the fundamentals" on Tuesday September 6 at 12:00 at the seminar room 473.10 of the PRBB (C/ Dr. Aiguader, 88). She was invited by Joan Salvador Vila (IMIM-Hospital del Mar).
Foulkes is interested in the development of analytic methods for characterizing the relationships among high-dimensional molecular and cellular data. She is collaborating with investigators across multiple disciplines ranging from oncology to immunology to identify and develop appropriate techniques for analyzing single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and disease outcomes.
