"Transcriptional programming of normal and leukaemic stem cells" by Tarik Enver, Friday, July 23
Tarik Enver, from the Molecular Haematology Unit at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in Oxford, UK, will give a talk entitled "Transcriptional programming of normal and leukaemic stem cells" on Friday July 23 at 12:00 at the seminar room 473.10 of the PRBB (C/ Dr. Aiguader, 88). She was invited by Thomas Graf (CRG).

Enver is interested in the transcriptional control of stem and progenitor cell fate decisions in blood cell development. Enver determines the global gene expression profiles associated with the exit of multipotential cells from self-renewal and their instigation of unilineage commitment and differentiation. He deploys bioinformatic approaches to delineate the transcription factor networks regulating these processes, focusing on the selection of erythroid versus myelomonocytic cell fates. He is also focused on how chimaeric transcription factors associated with leukaemia impact the transcriptional circuitry and behaviour of haemopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
