Andres Aguilera, from the Centro Andaluz de Biología Molecular y Medicina Regenerativa-CABIMER, in Universidad de Sevilla-CSIC-Universidad Pablo de Olavide, in Seville, Spain, is interested in the identification and understanding of the causes and mechanisms of genome instability. In particular, he is focused on the factors and mechanisms responsible for genome instability associated with replication stress and replication-born DNA breaks, including that caused by transcription-replication conflicts and R-loop accumulation. He uses human cells and the model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae, with specific incursions in Caenorhabditis elegans.

He has been invited by José Yelamos (IMIM).
